This may not seem like the most interesting of topics, but there are some things homeowners should know about window cleaning. It really is more than just being able to see out of a crystal clear window.

Window cleaning and toilet cleaning often trade places as the number one chores that people hate to do. As a fanatic about clean glass, I really don't understand this. It really isn't that hard to clean windows if your do it correctly.

First, most homeowners just take some glass cleaner and a paper towel and start rubbing. Have you ever seen a professional do it this way? I think not.

Actually the best way to clean the windows in your home is to use a scrubber and squeegee. That is how almost all of the professionals do it. Why though?

Mostly it is because the speed and easiness of use. This method will help you clean all the windows and mirrors in your entire house in a fraction of the time. Also, this method gets your windows much cleaner.

The windows in your home should be entirely cleaned at least once a month. By entirely cleaned I don't mean you just need to clean the glass portion, inside and out, and move on.

What you need to do is clean all of the glass, the frame around the window and then lift up the window and clean the track. This helps decrease the amount of trapped water, mud and decreases wood rot.

Now that you have the basics down, you may be thinking that only professionals can use a squeegee and mop. This is entirely incorrect. These tools can be used by just about everyone with great success.

If you want to know the best techniques to avoid water dripping and squeegee line mark, all you need to do is search for these terms on YouTube or some other video source. In no time you will be handling these tools like a pro.

Many homeowners in the United States are afraid that they would be unable to clean the outside of their second story windows. While it may be true that it is scary to climb ladders and lean against the house to do the cleaning, there are tools that can help you avoid this dilemma.
